I would like to have the parking permit program reinstated. My neighbors and I have been waiting for some relief since last October when we tried to get this established, and we are still in the same position. We are on Trenton Avenue, where several surrounding blocks and 75% of the street on Trenton is permit parking only. This has pushed all of the renters in the apartments at the opposite end of Trenton and on Shaffer to our part of the street, preventing us from parking in front of our property, putting our trash cans out on trash day, and leaving no room for our visitors to park. Meanwhile, the permit parking section of our street and the surrounding permit parking streets are pretty much empty. Can we have an update on when this program will be re-established? If it will not be continued, will the permit parking be stopped on the rest of the street and throughout the neighborhood?

I sent a comment on a later item, 8.7. The system only let me attach one photo. I am attaching the second photo here.

I was born in this city. It has so much potential and should not be in a deficit. Please consider reaching out to Strong Towns strongtowns.org

Roads lose cities money. They eventually need to be resurfaced and sprawling suburbs don't create the revenue to fix them. Revenue is made in the city center.

Old Towne Orange should be entirely pedestrianized. And the rest of the city should start modernizing/urbanizing. Wide streets like Chapman Ave could benefit from a street car and separated bike paths. We need better infrastructure. We need mixed-use infrastructure. Please think about people and not just cars. Children, the elderly and those with disabilities should have the freedom to move around the city.

As a child, I loved walking from St. John's to Chapman University (where my mom worked). The narrow streets and dips actually slow down cars and make for a peaceful walk.

As a teenager, I hated walking to El Modena High School from my home South of Chapman Ave. No one enjoys crossing a major road. It's noisy and with the current street design, it can be deadly.

I didn't mind biking to my first job (working for the city) from east Orange to Hart Park. But I definitely wouldn't dare to attempt that ride now that I've been behind the wheel of a car.

I didn't mind taking a bus to SCC but that's probably one of the most reliable bus lines in the city. And I only had to take it for 4 miles.

Use Carmel Indiana as an example
