Strongly support this action. Do recommend shifting the time to submit an appeal to 7 days not 5. I will save my concerns on the current appeal fee (still waiting) and process for council consideration in the future. Back to this action, the community and small business owners have less and less power to protect their property and business rights, must have the right to appeal something (like a grading permit, minor site plan, or demo permit approval or denial for staff decisions) and should be afforded enough time to prepare the required appeal documentation. The appeal step is also necessary before any decision can be submitted to the court. We need to show fairness. Seven (7) calendar days with credit for closed city days and holidays is a good compromise. Appreciate my comments on this item from the PC hearing were included. Also, my e-comments all run together which makes it difficult to follow. I put them in as paragraphs for just that reason. One of the problems with the software program and I hope that can be fixed in the future.

Let's shift from 15 days to 7 days.

The time for appeal needs to be extended for at least 7 working days.
