I believe the commission has the same goal of generation of more green spaces along the Santiago Creek. I encourage them to continue this effort, and convert the Sully-Miller site into a new parks. Although, not crucial, I would further suggest allocating approximately 16-20 acres to a disc golf course that could be utilized by the community and neighbors on Orange County. Orange County is lacking in this sport, with only one 18-hole course in Huntington Beach. They require a fraction of the maintenance and water usage as a traditional golf course, and tree coverage only increases the enjoyment for players! The HB course and so many others across the country, like Oyster Bay near San Francisco, were built on old landfill sites. Unlike traditional golf the disc golf course would also not be closed off to any non-players. Thank you. Jake Comer, resident of Orange.
I am strongly in favor of protecting and increasing green spaces in Orange. Green spaces with large areas devoted to California native plantings are critical for our community's health and our future ability to preserve our way of life. Other cities are paying large amounts of money to reclaim areas for connectivity between natural areas and to create green spaces. We should act now to preserve the ones we have, and we should avoid increased sprawl that causes traffic, water, and puts more people at risk of fire. Thank you. Jill Hargis resident of Orange.
