I work on 641 No. Poplar St. My Warehouse Mgr. has to close our gates in the evening and he has encountered issues with the people parking overnight on our street being aggressive towards him and trying to start fights. My customers don't feel safe when they come to our business and see all the trash and people hanging out in front of our drive way. Our grass in front of our building serves them as a place to urinate and defecate and our gardener has complained plenty of times that he shouldn't have to pick up human waste, I agree. Working late is sometimes questionable because that's when they all arrive and you get looks as if you were in the wrong for being in their (space). We have spent thousands of dollars making repairs to our gates, locks, sprinkler systems and more. We have had to call fire dept. for fires they have caused and have called the police numerous times for different issues. It's time to put a stop to this!
Overnight Parking has become a nuisance in this area, particularly with the homeless element that own vehicles, motorhomes and trailers. Some of theses individuals are confrontational and combative, often being threatening and using profanity. They use our property on the weekends for gatherings, yard sales and picnics, then leave the trash behind. They use the bushes for restrooms. They have pets that urinate and leave feces on our lawns as well a dig holes. They take water from our water spigots. We have had multiple occurrences of broken glass in our parking lots. Enough is enough. This needs to stop, now!
