I've always noticed these islands in the City Boundary Maps, and I'm glad to see we're finally considering including these within the City. Most importantly are the Santiago Creek Island (ID #23) or Recharge Basins, as these are key resources vital to the Santiago Creek and will align with the Strategic Plan. I am only concerned with Island #18 due to the R J Noble site at this property. However, if the City can reign in this company to ensure they are not discharging any pollutants to the Santa Ana River or into the air then I would support annexation. I support City staff to pursue annexation of all remaining County islands, and identify any additional analysis desired before initiating formal proceedings.
